Twitter on S60

GLOBAL- There’s no stopping the current hurricane that is Twitter and although there are plenty of options for accessing Twitter on your S60 device (includingStew,DabrandTwibble) but now there’s a new kid on the block thanks to the folks atMobileWays.de. News ofGravitycomes courtesy ofThe Guruwho reckons the app“runs great on any S60 3rd Edition smartphone”. We’ve yet to try it out, but going by Symbian-Guru’s review of the beta, it looks pretty appealing.

The app is fully featured, according to The Guru and although still missing some key functionality, the initial usability looks good. With a range of tabs on offer, you can scroll through them easily, going from left to right, as you would any standard S60 app. Each ‘Tweet’ features the users’ avatar and you can reply, retweet or access any included URL simply by clicking on the Tweet.

We’re all big fans and users of Twitter here on Conversations and it’s great to see Apps like this in the works. We’ve always been treated to great apps for our S60 devices, but recent announcements fromForum Nokia, such as the addition of the Nokia WebRunTime to Aptana Studio, and the news ofOvi Storemakes me think the floodgates are about to open up.
